If you could get your exercise by taking a pill, would you? Why or why not?
You know, after first reading this I was thinking "Oh, hell yes!" mostly because I have a tendency to be lazy. Well, that might be a lie because my first thoughts were actually about the impossibilities of taking a pill for "exercise." I mean, what are we talking about here? Like a dose of adrenalin to increase heart rate and simulate a workout? Or would it be something to boost metabolism and burn calories faster? Yea, apparently I'm a little too literal/logical/sciene oriented sometimes.
After thinking about it a little more, I decided that I really wouldn't take a pill instead of exercise. I have some issues sometimes with being a generally angry person, so decent workouts are a relatively safe way for me to blow off some steam. Especially given some of the alternative methods I've used before, exercise is pretty important. Then we could also add in the fact that a lot of the time I need to wear myself out or else I'm not going to get any sleep. It takes me a ridiculously long time to fall asleep even if I want to go to bed, so over the past year or so I've been spending time in the gym in an attempt to burn off some of that excess energy/tire myself out so that I can sleep. So far coupling that ideology with waking up at 6:30-7 every morning has worked out (not so much recently since it's summer, but during the year it helps). So in short, no I would not take a pill instead of do an actual physical workout.
